| if you go to show details and look closely at the file name you will see that look a likes are spelled incorrectly. The one that I blocked was named iexplore.exe I highly doubt that Microsoft misspelled a name of their file

| Although they are correct, I have seen cases where IEXPLORE.EXE has been on and the browser not actually on. This is usually after a virus has been on your computer leaving nasty spyware undetectable by many scanners.

| I have blocked / renamed / deleted this yet it keeps coming back! I don't ever use internet explorer yet it seems to open for a second every few seconds as a system process.
No matter what I try it keeps coming back.
The version on my pc is definitely third party malware. (and not the usual windows malware)

| I have 3 instances of ctfmon.exe process information -windows internet explorer. why are there 3?
|
 jted
| I have 3 instances running also. I noticed that I coincidentally have 3 applications open (Glary Main Prog, Glary Process Mgr, and IExplore.exe), and the start times of those 3 instances (shown under "details")seems to coincide with the times that each of the applications opened. Unless I read otherwise here, I'll assume this is correct.
