| Related to Microsoft_Office_Groove_2007 Groove Folder Sharing synchronization (GFS). If you kill it, your GFS workspaces may not synchronize properly (particularly around unread-marks), and you might experience some nagging discomfort. More information

 Errror xD
| It's not a dangerous startup, but i have experienced error that i had to shut it down.. This was after my computer started lagging & i wanted to reboot my computer..

 penguinman
| My computer yakes 5 minutes to startup now.
I didn't want groove monitor, and yet there it is, installed without my permission.
I would like to punish microsoft for this violation of my computer.
They should fined and executed.

| GrooveMonitor sounds like a cool groovy thing.
But it actually is a useless piece of crap.
|
 Bince
| More useless than dangerous

| From what I have read, it is completely useless for nearly all personal users and is designed mainly for businesses. It leaves ports open on your computer. To get rid of it go to run\msconfig\startup and disable it from there. It shouldn't come back again.

| All this does is allow Microsoft 2007 program (groove syncronization) to work offline. it is NOT needed if you dont use Groove.

| Groove is a MS Office program used mostly by business users to share information, files, etc amongst users that are not on the same domain or do not work for the same company. Most home users don't have much need for it. It is only useful if you actively use Groove to share files with other Groove users.

| If I don't need a port open, and if I don't need a program running for something I'm doing, I want it turned off. Do a search for "groovemonitor.exe" and when you find the file, right-click/rename and change the .exe to .ex_ - that way if something goes nuts, you didn't delete it and can undo it just the same. Also, run MSCONFIG from the Start/Run and uncheck the box. That way, the next time you start up, it won't give you any crap about not being able to find the file because you just renamed it.

| If you dont want it it is as simple as going to (Add and Remove>Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007>Change (not Remove)>Check the Add or Remove Features button>Go to the Microsoft Office Groove entry then expand then check Not Available), there will be a red X placed there, then click continue, then let the removal process do it's thing and you will no longer have Groove on your PC.

| The Officially signed version is fine, as far a nagging discomfort mentioned, I felt more with it on the system than removed. Used only really for the offline syncing mentioned above, no personal use I can see for it.

| This process kept me busy trying to remove it for at least fifteen minutes, only to find that it had distracted me and somehow had mysteriously removed my underpants from underneath my pants. This seemed so preposterous to me that I replicated the steps only to find my underpants missing again. This is an insidious new type of process for which there may be no cure. Be wary!

| It's not entirely clear to me whether I need Groove Monitor, but it is clear to me that these comments are themselves becoming dangerous. The link in the "Prince of Darkness" comment is to a site that tries to install malware on your computer. Were it not for my firewall and antivirus software, this might have become a problem. Readers please be wary. Site monitors, please delete the dangerous links, as well as the comments that are clearly intended to be misleading or satirical and unhelpful. Thank you for your otherwise excellent product Glarysoft.
