Lee T	Perfectly safe, but slows startup dramatically, switch it off. Related to ATI Driver software and Catalyst Control Centre.
samwhich	You may find switching this off causes unwanted system crashes due to the graphics drivers. I haven't looked into it 100% but I solved my issue by turning it back on.
