| Installed with Apple's iTunes for Windows. Uses ~3-4MB of memory and if disabled in MSCONFIG or deleted from the registry it will re-instate itself after running iTunes a few times - hence the reluctant Y recommendation

| I resent this program. I can't seem to get QuickTime without all this iPod excess baggage. I don't own an iPod and have no plans to get one. My opinion of Apple is greatly diminished by this marketing technique.

 Ian
| keep an eye this one it a file hijacker before you know it it has set itself as the prefered player etc. thats apple for you.

 Landon
| pointless

 Nick
| Don't care for the extra bloat.

| Its safe, but absolutely not necessary. Switch it off!
|
 Steve
| Pointless, get rid!
|
 Brian
| It helps iTunes run faster. It's built in to the program
|
 Brian S
| All it does is make iTunes start faster/ It's not associated with iPod at all.
|

| Totally useless.
|
 Cameron Motes
| I don't think you do not need this, it is to make iTunes run faster, but it does slow down my pc but [Love iTunes]
|
 Ajeeth
| It allows iTunes to start automatically when an iPod is connected
|
 jt
| This is a waste of time. Dont allow this at startup as when you need it you can access it via itunes in the normal way. It sits redundant until you do this
|
 afd
| it really doesn't show much affect when starting up

| Piece of crap. Just slows down your computer, I hate apple but I need iTunes.
|
 Danny
| With it enabled, Itunes starts pretty quickly. Without it, Itunes would only start when an ipod is connected. Manual start did not seem to work. Even with the ipod attached, itunes took forever to start up. Also, I feel opposite of Kirk inasmuch as I resent having to install quicktime every time I download the latest version of Itunes.
|
 M Jones
| This helps iTunes; I like iTunes.
|
 Uday
| THis is safe and is required for auto start of iTtunes when you connect iPod. In case you disable and connect your iPod instead of iTunes you have folder view ie the iPod displays as external drive. So disable only incase you do not use an iPod for sync music/ games etc
|
 Plaza
|
 JayGun
| Required for iTunes to function properly. More information

Some "helper-module-whaterever-it-is" from Itunes by Apple. Harmless.

Un utilitaire d'Itunes par Apple. Sans danger.

| Slows startup and is not needed without iPod.

| As the name suggests, this helps itunes to load faster once the program is executed, by partially loading at boot time. As with all these hidden applications, the boot time depends largely on the amount of RAM your system has. To a certain extent, the more RAM available, the quicker the boot-up time. Systems running XP with less that 1Gb of RAM are going to be slow, once such applications as itunes are installed. For Vista, 2Gb is recommended in order for the system to boot well.
|
 Tim
| Perfectly safe. It's installed along with iTunes and is there to synchronize iPods when they're connected to the PC.
|
 Nicholas Strong
| Waste of resources.
|
 Leo
| It helps iTunes load faster and recognise iPods and iPhones once they are connected. If you have an iPod leave it there... if you don't turn it off!
|
 Kris
| Horrible. Just makes start-up a pain.
